Hugh Cameron
Hugh Cameron attends Terry Sanford High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He is highly committed to being a leader for good. Hugh is working towards becoming a certified beekeeper and loves helping others. Hugh leads his high school’s FRIENDS CLUB; involved with Friendship House Fayetteville (an intentional living community for people with special needs and young medical professionals). He has created a three-acre Honeybee and Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary in the neighborhood in which he lives, which struggles with breaking the cycle of poverty.
Life requires experiences, knowledge from many sources, and the desire to make a difference. Hugh has learned that to be included, one must be in the room, but to belong, one must be missed when they are not present. Upon graduating from high school this spring, he plans to attend a North Carolina university and blend his love of the outdoors with his heart for helping others through science-based, rigorous collegiate studies. Hugh plans to continue honing my leadership skills by becoming a catalyst for change and bringing others into the circle of belonging.
