Isabella Pedroza
Isabella's interest in computer science and neuroscience stems from her experiences as a low-income, first-generation daughter of Mexican immigrants from a low-resource state (Nevada). She grew up with oppression in her community and systemic failures within the tech industry. As someone who has had the opportunity to be free and in a position of power, her job is to protect and empower others. During her high school years, she worked with Kidogo and Born This Way foundations, as well as met people from Google, Zillow, SpaceX, and more. As founder of her school's Female Empowerment Club, she wants to work to ensure that our society continues progressing so that no one faces discriminatory barriers within health or tech. To do so, she plans to pursue a career in computer science while merging the incredible science of neuroscience to help underrepresented communities and the advancements of technology within itself. She hopes to one day create better lives for people and unite communities.
