Ishir Vaidyanath
I am Ishir Vaidyanath, a high school senior soon graduating with Honors from Archbishop Mitty High School in the San Jose Bay Area. I am President of the State Champion Speech and Debate Team and a leader in the Mitty Advocacy Project which promotes social justice and equity through grassroots movements and policy reform. I have lived in California all my life, so I am excited to be attending the University of Pennsylvania in the fall. There, I have been accepted to the Management & Technology Program, which is a dual degree program and lets me major in engineering and business. I hope to study Computer Science and expect to concentrate in Quantitative Finance and Management for my business degree and learn how to apply these to further my interest in social justice.
I chose this combination because I hope to get a fundamental grasp on these areas to start my own business one day. With this program, I will gain the technical foundation and the understanding of how to build and scale a startup which will positively impact society.
