Joyce Essuman

My name is Joyce Essuman, and I am a student from Glendale, Wisconsin. I plan on pursuing a major in biology at Stanford University and hope to become a pediatric oncologist to pioneer advances in cancer treatment for children. I am a first-generation Ghanaian-American, which has been pivotal in inciting my passion for cultural awareness and service. Along with majoring in biology, I aim to minor in African studies and continue learning Spanish to realize my dream of becoming a bilingual doctor to help disadvantaged, Spanish-speaking communities. I am beyond grateful that NSHSS will allow me to bring my love of research, fundraising, and culture into college, the workplace, and beyond!
