Lauren Contreras
Lauren is so happy to have the opportunity to receive this scholarship. It will aid in her college journey. She is currently a junior at Neenah High School in Wisconsin. She was an exchange student in Spain for five months and enjoys educating herself through life experiences. Her current environmental project is composting. She created a presentation and pitched to her principal for the school to implement composting their scrapped foods at lunch versus throwing them away.
The NSHSS Foundation encourages environmental stewardship among high school students globally through the Foundation Earth Day Award. Students submit their environmental project they are working on currently, and provide details on the impact of the project in their communities and how it will impact the future.
