Nia Knight
Nia is a high achiever high school senior attending Maynard Holbrook Jackson High School in Atlanta, Georgia. Her extracurricular activities include being a varsity cheerleader, the Maynard Dance Company, and an elite community dance company. In addition, Nia is part of various clubs at her school, including the National Honors Society, Beta Club, and Future Business Leaders of America.
Nia is passionate about community service initiatives. She spends all her spare time and summers volunteering at Horizons Atlanta Summer Camp, leading small-group math and reading instruction and dance enrichment for young scholars in low-poverty communities. Nia has been dedicated since a young age to supporting education and presenting equitable opportunities for students in specific communities. She has had an unwavering commitment to leadership and the pursuit of inspiring future generations to lead with empathy, integrity, and a sense of responsibility to embody sustainable and positive change in the community.
With this NSHSS Nobel Academic Excellence Scholarship, Nia is determined to excel academically to improve mental health in the field of medicine and psychology, exploring innovative solutions to provide positive and impactful changes in specific communities and society at large. Nia’s commitment to giving back and her aspirations, as demonstrated through her academic success and volunteer experiences, will continue to guide and create meaningful change in the world for others.
