Through my varied past STEAM experiences, I have discovered that I want to become a Physician Scientist (MD, PhD). I will major in biomedical engineering in college this fall at Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science, focusing on vaccine development, tissue engineering and therapeutics. I am committed to using biomedical engineering and computer science to reduce health disparities among minorities. I plan to become involved in drug development and clinical trials. For me, STEAM becomes meaningful when it addresses human problems.
