Julius Culwell

Grace Christian Academy
Louisville, MS

Julius “Nick” Culwell attends Grace Christian School in Louisville, MS. After being diagnosed early in life with a language developmental disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), he was introduced to equine therapy and soon found he had a love for horses and equine competition. With his four-legged partners, Nick soon became a world champion in various disciplines within the horse industry and held leadership roles in numerous national horse associations. Outside the show arena, Nick spends his time sharing the miracle of the horse with other youth and has co-authored ground-breaking research concerning the impact of equine interaction on ADHD youth. When not “horsing around,” he plays on the varsity basketball, baseball, golf, and tennis teams and participates in school musicals. As for his future, after recently presenting his research on equine interaction at a national scientific conference, Nick gained a passion for the art of communications and decided to major in communications during his college career to share with other youth the value of the horse.
