Luke Freed has a passion for mathematics and economics. He has won various awards at the state and national level in competitive mathematics and is one of the co-presidents of the #1 private school math team in the nation. His passion for mathematics transpires to his affinity for investing and economics, in which he and his team were named global finalists in the Wharton Global High School Investment Competition. Additionally, through the Young Investors Society, he has advocated for financial literacy on a national scale, working with state legislators to pass financial literacy legislation (pending Appropriation Bill and Memorial Bill) in a variety of US states. By working with local Boys and Girls Clubs, he has already begun to implement some of these standards through a 3-month long financial literacy summer program. He has also interned with the Jacksonville Black Chamber of Commerce to assist with policy and legislative research to empower African American-owned businesses in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, Luke has conducted research in the field of econometrics through the University of Cambridge and was recently named an International Social Science Conference for Youth Finalist.
