Samantha Sandhaus
Samantha Sandhaus attends Central High School in Philadelphia, PA. She is an activist and community organizer and is passionate about the issues of food waste and insecurity. Samantha leads a student-based organization, Feeding Philly, which works to establish and strengthen mutual aid systems in her school and community against these issues. She also works to empower youth political voices as an ambassador for PA Youth Vote and secretary of her school’s Voter Engagement Team.
John Lewis believed in the passion, persistence, and power of the people, particularly young citizens, to effect change from their kitchen tables and to never give up. NSHSS honors Representative Lewis's legacy with the John Lewis Good Trouble Scholarship for students who embody the ideals of 'good trouble'.
