Sarah Shelke is a 16-year-old entrepreneur, social activist, and author. After co-founding one of the world’s largest youth-led mental health nonprofit organizations, Mind4Youth, she has reached 1.6 million youth around the world in 42 countries through social media awareness campaigns. Mind4Youth’s mission is to spread teen mental health awareness and provide free resources and support for underprivileged youth in marginalized communities. So far, she has led Mind4Youth’s initiatives, raising well over $200,000 and 8,000 donated items. Mind4Youth also has almost 12,000 youth members and volunteers, as well as 26 chapters worldwide. Through partnerships with organizations including the UN, Kendra Scott, and Costco, Sarah has worked with them to create a more significant impact than ever. She is also the author of a “Guide to Teen Mental Health,” which aims to teach other youth about common mental health illnesses and disorders, a Research Assistant at a lab at Harvard University, and is currently working on a research project on rising rates for mass incarceration in minority youth and disparities with equal mental healthcare access. Through her advocacy efforts and leadership, Sarah also hopes to inspire other youth to take action on issues they are passionate about.
