Subhadra Vadlamannati
Subha Vadlamannati is the founder of LJL, the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN), and Youth Board Member of Invest in Youth. Subha works at the intersection of Data Science, NLP, and ML, earning the Society of Women Engineers Next (SWE) STEM in Action award, National Center for Women and Technology Aspire, Impact awards, and a publication in the Journal of Student Research. She volunteers at several local nonprofit organizations offering STEM after-school programs. She observed that only a fraction of the kids could take advantage of the programs she offered because of a lack of English skills. She wants to provide these kids, refugees, and immigrants; with content they can use to accelerate their English learning. The languages they speak are considered “low-resource” languages that lack learning material and bilingual teachers. She wants to create bilingual content that can be leveraged by kids and their families with minimal support from external sources.
The NSHSS Nobel Academic Excellence Scholarship recognizes high school juniors and seniors making a positive impact on society, and how college will help these students continue to make an impact for years to come.
