Westin Boyd
Hi! I'm Westin! I'm a senior at Sunset High School in Portland, Oregon! I'm the current Co-President of my school's Climate Change Club as well as its chapter of the National Honor Society, and I love to spend my time encouraging others to take action in their community. I strive to be outdoors as much as possible, and, being a member of my school's varsity cross country team, I'm always up to explore and admire a natural area on a long run! My work for environmentalism includes hosting local styrofoam recycling drives, at which my clubmates and I collect styrofoam from residents in our area and shuttle in to a nearby facility at the forefront of the styrofoam recycling industry, Agilyx. I believe that climate change is the most pressing threat to the future of our planet, and with my advocacy, I hope to inspire and empower others to band together in order to scale the massive grave we've dug for ourselves.
The NSHSS Foundation encourages environmental stewardship among high school students globally through the Foundation Earth Day Award. Students submit their environmental project they are working on currently, and provide details on the impact of the project in their communities and how it will impact the future.
