Lorilee Malecha
My name is Lorilee Malecha and I am the band and choir director at RTR Middle School and High School. This is my 6th year teaching at Russell-Tyler-Ruthton (RTR) which is located in the rural southwest corner of Minnesota.
I received my bachelor degree at SMSU (Southwest Minnesota State University) in Marshall, MN and graduated with a K-12 Vocal and Classroom degree in 1986. I have recently gone back to college and am working on finishing up my band licensure to get my K-12 Instrumental degree from SMSU.
I have co-authored and published 2 music books:
June 2009 - Co-authored “Lively Literacy & Music Activities” (Key Education, 2009), PreK-K teacher resource book, winner of Creative Child Magazine Seal of Excellence

“The Big Book of Music Games” (Instructional Fair - T.S. Denison, 1998
I am living in Tyler, MN with my supportive husband and we like to travel around the United States and see the beautiful sights our country has to offer.
NSHSS is always looking to find ways to support our network of educators, especially those who are constantly looking to support their students. To help offset the financial burden, NSHSS is giving four (4) high school educators $500 grants to help provide additional opportunities to their students and classrooms.
