Major Paul Petzrick

Major Paul A. Petzrick Jr. (US Army Retired), a 1977 graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point, currently serves as the Science Department Chairman at Trinity Christian School in Fairfax, VA. In addition to his leadership duties as the department chairman, Major Petzrick teaches all levels of chemistry, an honors-level Introduction to Engineering course, and Leadership. He also serves as the advisor to the school’s military-style Color Guard and the Student Ethics and Leadership Training Team. Before serving in education, Major Petzrick held numerous command and staff positions in Infantry and Combat Engineer units in the United States and Germany with the 82nd Airborne Division, the 1st Cavalry Division, and the 130th Combat Engineer Brigade and as the Operations and Training Officer for the Army ROTC program at Duke University and UNC-Chapel Hill. Major Petzrick served during the First Gulf War as the Operations Officer and Deputy Commander for Support for the Kuwait Emergency Recovery Office with responsibility for infrastructure recovery following the occupation of Kuwait by the Iraqi Army. As the KERO Operations Officer, he was also called upon to clear mines and booby traps from critical government and infrastructure facilities. Major Petzrick and his wife (a former Army nurse) have been married for forty-five years. In addition to a degree in Civil Engineering, Major Petzrick holds 2 Masters's Degrees in Systems Management and Education.

NSHSS is always looking to find ways to support our network of educators, especially those who are constantly looking to support their students. To help offset the financial burden, NSHSS is awarding fifteen (15) high school educators $500 grants to help provide additional opportunities to their students and classrooms.
