Theresa Fischer is in her 14th year of teaching at Fredonia Schools in Fredonia, Ks. She teaches 7-12 grade choir and theater. Her choirs get top ratings at state music competitions yearly, and her Select Singers will be opening for the acapella group SIX this spring in Branson Mo. She has directed 23 plays and musicals in her career as an educator and has been nominated for Jester awards through Music Theater of Wichita for her technical theater and student roles. She also is the founder and director of the Fredonia Arts Council Childrens Summer Theater Program. She has her Bachelor's of Music Education from Emporia State University and her Master's of Music in Vocal Performance from Pittsburg State University. When she is not teaching, she actively performs with various opera companies and loves to be involved in community theater. Theresa is married to Matt Fischer and has adorable 7-year-old twins, Wally and Lucy.

Grants Awarded in 2023: School Supplies Grant

NSHSS is always looking to find ways to support our network of educators, especially those who are constantly looking to support their students. To help offset the financial burden, NSHSS is awarding fifteen (15) high school educators $500 grants to help provide additional opportunities to their students and classrooms.
