My name is Vanessa Radice, and I have been teaching for the past 20 years at a Title I school for various disabilities. Teaching has been my calling since I was young, and helping others fulfills me daily. I have a bachelor's and master's in Special Education. I also have a second masters in Psychology, where I received a degree that allowed me to become a licensed Mental Health Therapist. For the past four years, I have been given the privilege to embark on a new challenge- working with students in the modified program, meaning they have an IQ less than 70 with either Autism or Intellectual Disabilities. After attending many workshops and conferences, I have noticed a need to start a Life Skills and Sensory room for my program, which has 90-plus students.
I look forward to using the grant funds to help build our life skills/sensory room.
