William South
William South is an educator from Sevier County High School in Sevierville, Tennessee. He has taught for twenty-nine years at Sevier Co. HS and has a Broadfield certification in Social Studies. He currently teaches Statewide Dual Credit courses in American History, Psychology, and Sociology. He was on the State committees that helped create these three college-level transition courses and served as workshop facilitator on all three classes on some level for the last eight years.
The Educator of the Year Awards are presented annually to exemplary educators who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to preparing students for success in college and in life. These awardees model best practices in teaching or administration inside and outside of the classroom, are peer role models, and demonstrate outstanding leadership and excellence in education. Any NSHSS Educator teaching high school has the opportunity to apply.
