NEW! Our partners at Johns Hopkins University asked us to share the following information with you regarding summer scholarship programs. Please review the details and links below to receive more information. Johns Hopkins invites you to participate in one of our selective academic programs for mature, high-achieving high school students. Become a university student for a few weeks this summer while you take undergraduate classes at one of America’s most prestigious universities and get a taste of life on the Homewood Campus.

The Summer University Program is for students who are academically prepared to enroll in freshman and sophomore-level undergraduate courses. Students choose courses from the summer offerings, lasting two or five weeks, and take classes alongside university students. Please visit https://summer.jhu.edu/courses/summer.asp to view courses.

The Discover Hopkins Program is also for students who are academically ready for undergraduate courses, but would like to concentrate on one topic. Lectures are enhanced by a guest speaker series, guided field trips or site visits to research locations, depending on your choice of program. For a listing of courses available, please visit http://www.jhu.edu/summer/precollege/discover/index.html.

Throughout the summer, students will participate in workshops led by Hopkins’ own admissions staff, undergraduate academic advisors and career center professionals. You’ll also find plenty of excitement with organize activities on campus, and you’ll have full access to the many resources and recreational facilities available to undergraduates throughout the academic year and the summer.

You will receive a university transcript with your grade(s) at the end of the program. The credits you earn at Hopkins are university undergraduate credits, which you may transfer to your future university program.

Johns Hopkins will be providing one NSHSS member with a scholarship to attend their Pre-College summer session in 2015, and NSHSS students may also apply for additional need-based grants. The deadline for need-based grants is March 16, 2015. To apply for the program please submit an application by visiting http://www.jhu.edu/summer. For more information please call 1-800-548-0548 or 410-516-4548 or send an email to summer@jhu.edu.
