Joseph Jideonwo
Joseph Jideonwo is a high-performing honors student from Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is seeking a degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Cybersecurity. Joseph exercises solid problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills to achieve results in academic environments and extracurriculars. Joseph’s life goal is to ensure that the software solutions we use daily are accessible to all people of all abilities, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. Through an immersive internship experience, Joseph has created an accessible app for Hoosiers who are blind. With only 4.9% of software developers in the nation being African-American, Joseph wants to ensure the accessibility of technology and seeks to encourage more African American males to enter the field. Joseph also is an active member of the National Honor Society, National Society for High School Scholars, National Society of Black Engineers, and Black Data Processing Association. Locally, Joseph is active in his community through the Indianapolis Mayor’s Youth Leadership Council, the Center for Leadership Development (CLD), and the Minority Engineering Program of Indianapolis.
