Grace Sagebiel, from Bastrop, Texas, has thrown for her high school’s varsity throwing team for three years and will throw varsity again in the spring of her senior year. She advanced to the area meet in 2020 with shot-put and then moved to the regional track meet. She went with shot-put and disc to the area track meet in 2021 and later advanced to the region with shot-put. Grace also competes on her high school powerlifting team. She was the only female lifter for the previous two years and had gone to the region both. She placed 3rd in 2021, barely missing the state cut-off by one place. Grace plans to attend Texas A&M Kingsville in the fall of 2023 and hopes to continue throwing as a college athlete. Grace will continue lifting on the Javelina intramural powerlifting team in college.
