Educator Training and Professional Development Grant

Award:

Two (2) $1,500 grants

Eligibility:

Any high school educator* currently employed at a public or private high school in the United States or internationally.  

*We invite school social workers, counselors, homeschool educators, test prep professionals, teachers, administrators, etc. to register for free as an NSHSS educator and begin applying for NSHSS grants.

Grant Details:

The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) recognizes the vital role educators play in continuously growing their skills to better support student achievement. Through ongoing training and professional development, educators can strengthen their expertise, bring innovative practices into the classroom, and create more impactful learning experiences for their students.

To support these efforts, NSHSS is awarding two (2) $1,500 grants to educators seeking opportunities for professional growth. Funds may be used for training programs, certifications, workshops, or other learning experiences that help educators develop specific skills and enhance both their teaching practice and their students’ success.

NSHSS Educators are eligible to receive one NSHSS grant per calendar year.

Application Requirements:

  • Prompt response of 500-800 words to the following question:
    • What are 1 to 2 specific skills you hope to develop with support from this grant? What training, certification, or learning opportunity would most impact your teaching and your students’ success? 
  • Pictures/videos/media showing your leadership in action (optional but strongly encouraged)
  • Color headshot
  • Professional resume
  • Principal/Administrator recommendation
