NSHSS teamed up with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for a one-day STEM Camp in Langley, VA, exclusively for NSHSS members. Of the hundreds of applications we received, 30 lucky students were chosen to participate. We picked students up in Washington, D.C. on August 8, 2019 and took a quick bus trip to the CIA headquarters.
Camp leaders discussed the endless opportunities in STEM fields at the CIA and gave attendees that opportunity to network with current CIA interns. They learned about applying for student programs and what day-to-day life looks like across varying departments at the CIA.
Students were able to participate in a hands-on activity involving technology, coding, and a small circuit board before getting a history lesson on the CIA. To test their deduction skills, camp leaders also administered a quiz to students.
