NSHSS Scholar's Day 2018 in Washington, D.C.

Nearly 2,000 scholars, parents, and educators from 44 states and 10 countries gathered in Washington, D.C. to participate in Scholar’s Day 2018, NSHSS’s largest event of the year.

This 2-day event kicked off Friday afternoon, on August 3rd, with Student Exhibition presentations, highlighting STEM & Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Leadership, and World Betterment projects. Afterwards, members explored the expo hall featuring over 60 College & Career Fair booths, shopping the NSHSS store, and hanging out in the networking lounge. The opening ceremony included the #FutureFocused corporate panel, and featured keynote speaker, Dr. James Downing, President & Chief Executive Officer of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The night ended with informative welcome sessions for parents and a high-energy social featuring a lip-sync battle for our members.

Day two began with 12 early morning breakout sessions on writing college essays, preparing successful scholarship applications, SAT and/or ACT strategy sessions, CIA Student Opportunities panel, and more! Scholar's Day culminated with a Member Recognition Ceremony honoring the 2018 scholarship recipients, top educators of the year, and formally recognizing our newly-inducted high-achieving scholars!
