School Counselor wins NSHSS grant, named Fairfax County Public School Cares employee of the Month

Mr. Arnold McNeal, School Counselor at Mount Vernon High School in Alexandria, Virginia, was recently recognized as the Fairfax County Public School Cares employee of the Month.

FCPS Cares provides an opportunity for parents, staff and community members to recognize FCPS employees who go that extra mile to uphold FCPS’ values by promoting cultural awareness, supporting excellence in academics, building positive relationships, and enriching the experiences of students and others.

Mr. McNeal attributes this award based on his ability to attend the American School Counselor Association Conference (ASCA) in Denver, Colorado, last summer due to being awarded a NSHSS grant to help offset financial restrictions.
